Its been a while
How much time does one have in a day and why do other people have more than others? I have been asking myself these questions for a while now and i finally came to an understand that its all about planning (how you invest your time and with whom). I think one of the things i fear the most regretting for lost time... I'd like to leave and know that i have spend my time on worthy causes and in the processes i had fun.
I've planned my time (time to play, work, relax and do absolutely nothing).
What I'm basically saying is... i have spend a lot of time wondering what happened to my time... and now i have decided to dump the thought and spend that time anyway.
I am back on the blogging game... watch the space.

Socializethat uses Code Igniter
A few months back we were deciding on which framework to use for SocializeThat. The core components have be re-written 5 times with different frameworks until we got to a conclusion of using a very light-weight PHP framework called Code igniter. What is code igniter???
"Code Igniter is an Open Source Web Application Framework
that makes writing kick-ass PHP programs simple as apple pie"
And that's exactly what it is....and its very easy to learn. The advantage of this framework is the ability to write any web application thats reliable and fast without loading modules that are not required. You can create an ordinary website without using a M of the MVC (which is the Model - responsible for backend processing).
Another biggest advantage to this framework is with the setup. There are no configuration files, all you have to do is download it and place it in your root folder.
We will be exploring more this...

Flying: You will never look at the ground the same way
Do you remember the first feeling of being able to breath, walk, say you first word?? Well i don't. I
remember the first feeling of passing my Matric, Graduating at Tertiary, Driving my first car, but non compares to flying.
Yes, you heard me. I went flying last night, and man.... that was an interesting experience. The feeling is un imaginable. I have always dreamt of flying. I even made "attempts" to join the air force but computers got the best of me.And suddenly i was airborne.
Its amazing what the earth looks like from a bird's view. The adrinaline that builds up when you tilt that plane to one side.....spectacular. That was my flight experience in one night. Just an hour in the air and i was never able to look at the earth the same way.

Flying in the evening has its own advantages and disadvantages... (Advantages: Very quiet, Disadvantages: You can't take clearer photos) but for a first time fyier it was great in every way. I managed to take a couple of shots......it was an evening to remember.......

I must say that Johannesburg looks pretty funky in the evening......especially when you are up in the sky. The flight route was from Grand central airport (Christo hired a plane from Babcock Flying Academy), to JHB CBD (over hilbrow Ponte tower) to Soweto (my birth place), down to Sandton. We flew around JHB CBD for a while.....man - That was amazing..... flying at 7000ft everybody looks the same (you start wondering why can't we just get along). Anyway, thats a topic for another day...
I owe all this to Christo.... he really made my dream come true... Now all i have to do is aqcuire my PPL and the sky is the limit.
