Got Smashed

Can't say i had a great weekend when somebody drives into my car.
But lets wait and see if this baby can be revived.

Flying: You will never look at the ground the same way

Do you remember the first feeling of being able to breath, walk, say you first word?? Well i don't. I remember the first feeling of passing my Matric, Graduating at Tertiary, Driving my first car, but non compares to flying.

Yes, you heard me. I went flying last night, and man.... that was an interesting experience. The feeling is un imaginable. I have always dreamt of flying. I even made "attempts" to join the air force but computers got the best of me.And suddenly i was airborne.

Its amazing what the earth looks like from a bird's view. The adrinaline that builds up when you tilt that plane to one side.....spectacular. That was my flight experience in one night. Just an hour in the air and i was never able to look at the earth the same way.

























Flying in the evening has its own advantages and disadvantages... (Advantages: Very quiet, Disadvantages: You can't take clearer photos) but for a first time fyier it was great in every way. I managed to take a couple of shots......it was an evening to remember.......


I must say that Johannesburg looks pretty funky in the evening......especially when you are up in the sky. The flight route was from Grand central airport (Christo hired a plane from Babcock Flying Academy), to JHB CBD (over hilbrow Ponte tower) to Soweto (my birth place), down to Sandton. We flew around JHB CBD for a while.....man - That was amazing..... flying at 7000ft everybody looks the same (you start wondering why can't we just get along). Anyway, thats a topic for another day...

I owe all this to Christo.... he really made my dream come true... Now all i have to do is aqcuire my PPL and the sky is the limit.

My God - 2006

Another year has gone and most of us are asking ourselves what happened. I'm one of the people who's been setting goals year after year and probably not achieving them. Well, this weekend i took time to reflect and i realised that i have achieved all those thing way before i attempted to. All this is due to God because he orders my steps.

Its usually in times when you don't feel God's presence that you need him the most. This year has been like that. And having highs and lows in life is very common. This was my low season (2006) with a lot of trials and mistaked. Some of which i failed disimaly but for a purpose.

I discovered that i am relying on my own strength therefore pride creeps in and i feel like i don't need anyone. The bibles says in Proverbs 11:2 - "When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. " and Proverbs 16:18 says - "Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall." ... I think this is self explainatory to my feelings about 2006.... God is always good.....

Now what am i getting into with this talk: All i'm trying to say is that you have come this far, leaving and breathing not because of your might and power, but becuase God has a special purpose with your life and he will not let you go until his will for you is done. So if this year has turned out good, praise be to the most high...but if you feel that it didn't turn out nice as you've imagined... we'll after winter there's spring and this is your season... believe it.

SocializeThat - awaken the sleeping network

As from today, i will be working on the Database module of the web 2.0 application called socializethat . I have toyed with a couple of ideas concerning frameworks like cakePHP and Symfony and have decided to adopt the methodologies they used but i will be creating my own API. This is purely a fun site and i hope it will grow into something i could never dare imagine. I worked on different websites before but i have never attempted to create something Web 2 ish before....

So the next coming 4 weeks will be very exciting as we delver into the design and planning of this system.

Yet another interesting week

Hi,
This is going to be a very interesting week ahead.... yet another one of those weeks when something good happens to you and you can't wait to tell it to all your friends. Anyway, things have been happening in my life and i have just been blessed all the way.

I'm currenctly working on interesting personal projects and would be writting about them. So keep your ears on the cyber ground for an interesting web 2.0 application coming up from South Africa ,which will rock the grounds and shake it for this festive season.

More will be revealed as time goes by. But for now we can keep this on the hush hush. ☺
